This is a special interview for me because I’ve known Fong since our days in college. He’s survived one of the most competitive markets in the world to build a successful digital agency in Shanghai. Starting out in 2008 as FlipScript, within a short span of 5 years, he built the company from a 3 man team towards 43 and was acquired by UK’s largest independent advertising companies called Engine Group.
On a regular day, business competition is a serious issue, but Fong successfully carved a space for himself in a foreign land. You’ll get insights into some of the perspectives and practices he used to gain trust and win clients.
Through his story you’ll learn
What it really means when people say ‘build personal relationships’ with clients.
The philosophy of risk, and how thinking in that way helps you win clients.
How he addresses the issue of getting the right talent from a small agency, till now.
